I am interested in creating intimate oil paintings of Irish women and their private and everyday moments. I use photographs of family and friends taken in the 1970's and 80's as reference points. The intimacy in the work allows for the humanity of seeing a body as a woman, another person. The figure's faces are often cropped to allow the viewer to imagine the woman's identity.
