Red illuminates was created as a reflection on the culture in socialist countries and the ways in which loyalty to the state is cultivated. This project consists of multiple elements shown in the installation form. The moving image piece documents an orchid was placed in a confined space listening to socialist propaganda under artificial grow lights continuously for 30 days.
