As a Textile Print Designer, I like to capture images with my camera. From these photographs I produce hand sketched drawings and mark makings which I use to recollect my experiences and to create my designs.Designs are created using my illustrations and then transferred into CAD, usually but not exclusively, Photoshop. I enjoy creating a mixture of screen and digital printing. While I specialise in printing, I also have skills as a dyer, embroider and painter.When I produced The Vibrancy Collection inspiration came from Tropical Birds. I was drawn to the distinctive colours of the bird’s plumage and the cacophony of noises in the bird’s environment. I tried to capture the sound of the birds in the rhythm of my patterns and while I worked, I listened to the sounds of the Tropical Birds, this inspired my designs.I created a colourful collection of fabrics designed to make the wearer feel confident both mentally and physically.
