A playful pastiche of the dailiness of daily life, my body of work encompasses the ideas of Absurdism through the lens of the mundane and arbitrariness of the everyday. My inspiration is drawn from the banalities and the routines of the quotidian while simultaneously investigating my internal dialog and the external presentation of the self. Text is a central element in my work, particularly in the repetition of often overlooked “nothing” words, words that are vital in the communication of thoughts and ideas. I take influence from the Dada Movement in my collection of “nothing” things. By blending elements of photography, collage, traditional printmaking techniques and new technologies, I have created a documentation of the ordinary and the everyday through my practice.
