I am a writer/director from County Clare, Ireland. Over the last four years I have created fiction short films, documentaries, spec ads and music videos. In my final year I wrote and directed a fiction short film called 'Tough Love', a spec ad for Action On Salt, and another short shot on 16mm film titled 'I Think You're Kinda Cute'. I am drawn to darkly comedic stories that explore the bizarreness of human existence. With my films, I want to try to make sense of and poke fun at human behaviour while using the medium to entertain and excite others. Life and reality are supposedly meaningless, and I think the best response to deal with that is laughter - a healthy dose of humour is how I believe we should explore the world around us. Film is a way to bring people together, and I want to engage others through a comedic (and often absurd) lens. My film 'Tough Love' is about a divorced housewife turned dominatrix who accidentally kills a client and must figure out what to do next, all while dealing with her manipulative teenage son. The Spec Ad I made, titled 'A Savoury Gag', went on to win an award at the Kodak/NAHEMI Student Commercial Awards 2024 in London. I currently have several projects in development and 'Tough Love' is about to begin its festival run.
