My current practice is focussed on seeing the world with different eyes. Not cultural or by class, but physical. As a sufferer of impaired vision from birth, and further worsened through age and illness, it has always interested me that we all see the world differently. Now I try to represent those differences in oil paintings for people to see and feel the world that others like me inhabit. At the moment I am focussing on how the overpowering nature of light sources erase the environment in any scene I look at without optical assistance; reliving memories and scenes from childhood with my adult eyesight, seeing how age and wisdom can change the experience for good or for ill, and convey those feelings to the audience.
