I am a Slovak animator interested in 2D hand-drawn animation. My biggest inspiration is Glen Keane and his amazing ability to bring life into his drawings and animations, and I put that inspiration into my graduation film Artemisia. The film is based on the life and work of a baroque artist Artemisia Gentileschi, one of the few female painters of that time. It deals with her coming to terms with her sexual assault via her feminist work, so I used a more realistic art style and limited colour palette to emphasise the seriousness of the topic, and to bring emphasis to Artemisia herself.
