My work revolves around the idea of a lost future. I’ve always been fascinated with the structures of the mid to late 20th century. They represent the high point of humanity's domination over the earth, but also a time where the power of the state to better peoples lives. For my final year college project I decided to focus on these ideas. Part of my project involved a series of photos taken of the M50 motorway at night, reframing this stretch of road as a site of lost utopian ideas. The choice to shoot at night was made to emphasise the man made, artificially lit nature of the motorway and the landscape that surrounds it.
