My work is a window into intimate domestic spaces and the women who keep them. I embody the character but never address who or where she is. Drawing on my own photographic source material, I frame the character using windows or frames putting a cold distance between the viewer and the subject. The work conveys a sense of loneliness and isolation. Placing the viewer directly in the space invading the sanctity, I imagine what the viewer would focus on if they were in the space. Cropped compositions of moments in time, noticing the running tap, the roses or the curls draping on her shoulder, the pieces invite an uncomfortable curiosity into her sepia-toned world.
