My work considers concepts of trace and perception to explore materiality and temporality within architectural space through experimentation with drawing, carving and photography. The relationship between memory and space is examined in my practice through the defamiliarization of everyday vestiges of domestic activity and phenomena. Through photography and drawing I document and produce ambiguous fragments and fictions of the domestic, operating between ideas of interior and exterior, destruction and construction, permanency and ephemerality, the familiar and the unfamiliar. The resultant pieces consist of fragmented and abstracted scenes, landscapes and imagery of spaces that were once familiar.
