In my studio practice I am trying to interpret an aesthetic appreciation that collaborates with my perception of everyday life. To emphasize this, I use Polaroid photography that I am collecting and preserving to explore with both traditional and experimental approaches as I am also working with a scanner, 35mm film camera, and digital camera. Recently, I have been focusing on the significance of trees and the relationship between nature and human beings. I am communicating this through sentimental series of coloured Polaroids. My photographs are emphasizing a sense of belonging and becoming homesick in a new unknown place. I feel that my Polaroid camera works as a connection between nature and time to capture a sense of appreciation of current moments, it works as a tool to search for the truth. Trees as well as landscape are my main subject matter as they are reminders of memories that links with present perception of places. This method creates a narrative imagery and can expand into sequences, film, and an installation. To indicate this, I started to develop an idea of creating installations that would communicate a feeling of sentiment within the viewer. To achieve this, I am having my photographs presented with furniture. Wooden furniture might open a dialogue that could remind the audience of precious memories. In exploration, I began to experiment with wooden drawers, tables, flowers and light boxes to combine them with some of my colour polaroid's. I feel that flowers can transform the installation as it will illustrate the appreciation of living nature. Scent suggests the feeling of home and so can audio of singing birds. The aim of this is to make the audience both see and feel my personal attachments towards natural surroundings that remind me of my beloved home.
