As a multidisciplinary artist I create experimental films in tandem with textile work of wool tufted collages. Mixing the two mediums has created a new exciting form of non-linear and non-conventional, experimental storytelling. My personal film archive, a personal video diary spanning the past decade, continually provides sources for my practice to unfold. Important Concepts of Identity, memory, the internal conscious stream, emotions in relation to temporality, have prompted me to explore narrative, through visual rhythmic collages of sounds and moving image. The interweaving of these experimental films together with textiles creates emotive engagement. Creating 3D tufted fluffy carpeted objects in tandem with vivid bright films allows for a fun humorous experience. This comforting atmosphere allows for the space of darker emotional concepts to bleed through to the viewers. When immersed in textile and film works, concepts of nostalgia, the past and melancholy, relive themselves, while exploring the measure of temporality through emotions, memory, and visuals.
