My graduate project is called ‘Looking Towards the Sun.’ It embarks on a journey by assembling fragmentary moments from the past and present. In this body of work, I combine a personal archive of images with contemporary photographs captured using the same film camera from my childhood. The result creates a constellation of imagery that allows us to explore aspects of memory, youth and queer identity. My practice draws from my background in campaigning for social and political rights and is interested in the ways in which personal experiences can inform our collective understanding.
