Hi! My name is Declan Flynn. I’m an illustrator/animator/motion designer based in Dublin, Ireland. I studied Communication Design in NCAD Ireland, with a specialisation in Moving Image Design. My work as a creator focuses heavily on art direction, narratives, world building and emotive textures. I love creating and designing characters and immersing myself in genre-specific projects. Researching and experimenting with illustrative styles is something I enjoy immensely, and I strive to learn something new with each project I work on. Project 01 - "Odin - A Cancelled God" is a tongue-and-cheek animated short that aims to contextualise the notions of changing myths, values and idols.
Project 02 - "Act Together" was my entry to the 2022 RSA competition brief. Narrated by Dr. Vivek Murthy, the story follows a window cleaner as they engage in an act of kindness and connection in a dystopia of isolation.
