My name is Finbar Flanagan and I am a mixed media visual artist that grew up in the rural village of Blackwater, Co. Wexford. I primarily uses photography to create often conceptually narrated bodies of work. Identity of the home and family are recurring themes in my practice that are often built around deeply personal reflections of my own life. This way of making art has a way of creating a familiarity with the viewer, but it also enters the space of controversial imagery. I direct my camera towards myself and my three children, who serve as the foremost inspiration for my creative process.
