I am a young Irish creative designer who has just received their first class honors in Ceramics from Limerick School of Art and Design.
I’ve a keen interest in exploring contemporary methodologies whilst keeping true to the traditional processes of ceramics. My current body of work explores portraiture and how likeness and identity are lost through recording in both traditional and contemporary processes. Using a combination of digital new media and traditional ceramic techniques, I begin unearthing new potential within historical museum fragments. Refabricating them using virtual technology. The final pieces combining 3D prints with traditional porcelain casts.
Moving freely from digital to physical without bias within my practice, I like to find the balance between both in my creative process.
