I am a Polish artist currently residing in Ireland. The aims of my work is exploration into different areas of image making. I explore how images react off of each other and what meaning is generated in the space between them while they interact on the canvas. I am is looking at how the meaning of an image, object changes depending on the way it's painted, what does the way we paint things tells us about ourselves psychologically or ideologically and what does it say about our understanding of the subject. As we are inundated with imagery in the modern world the I want to translate these excesses of the internet into maximalist compositions. I integrate historical as well as contemporary imagery as to spark a dialogue between the past and the present and to observe how the two interact. The reason for my exploration into imagery is the search for meaning within the post-modern world. As the classical beliefs have dissipated and we have lost structures which we could believe, we have to search, discover and create meaning ourselves. With these paintings I hope to create a space for exploration for both the viewer and myself, a collaborative process where both parties create their own meaning. I aim to inspire joy in the viewer through experimental use of imagery and paint, creating innovative works and through the work process I hope to push the medium of painting through experimentation and a joy oriented approach to creation.
