I'm interested in mirroring and doubling as an expression of tensions inherent to contemporary ideas of 'self'. According to Freud, doubling is a characteristic of the uncanny that is revealed when certain desires are suppressed. The uncanny is to be found in the everyday and is the product of intellectual uncertainty.
