Landscape is the quintessential place. Through its constant representation landscape can adopt political, religious and social significance, reflecting the society and times in which it is produced. My work aims to question and subvert where necessary the tropes of the Irish landscape in art, with particular attention to Paul Henry, the progenitor of stereotypical West of Ireland landscapes.
