Inspired by nature, my current project looks at the silver birch (common in my native Sweden). Studying texture, surface and colour, I attempt to find its essence, translating it into paintings that hover between abstract and representational. I see the painting as a living entity, appearing in surprising, confusing, or even irritating ways.
