Throughout my time in NCAD, I have been rediscovering ideas and thoughts of my child self through experimental making. My practice has consistently explored elements of play and repetition in daily life and behaviours. I’ve always been interested in lists, verbose media and ephemeral material such as receipts and shopping lists. Although I have spent these last few years completing my Fine Art Paint degree, I enjoy experimenting with a range of materials and mediums. Key themes in my work are familiarity and nostalgic ideas expressed in a colourful setting through organic linework and abstraction. My work aims to create a calming, meditative process for myself as the artist and for the viewer to find comfort in.
