What started as an examination of my interest in Lough Gara in County Sligo became an exploration into natural liminal spaces and the emotional and psychological landscapes they create.I am interested in how these spaces can be manipulated to evoke feelings of connection, and solace, alongside discomfort, and confrontation. These liminal spaces can be seen in many different natural phenomena, such as the play of light and shadow, the shifting of tides, or the sprawling movement of undergrowth. In these moments, the landscape becomes a place of transformation. My work explores the intersection of ambiguity and natural landscapes, using contrasting elements of light and dark, systemic and organic, the familiar and the mysterious. I am fascinated by the tension in these spaces and seek to create a dialogue between the viewer and the environment around them.
