I am an Irish visual artist whose practice blends alchemical and queer philosophies with a punk diy ethic. My primary concerns are material cultures and the environment.. Reimagining primal visual languages for a radically altered and changing world. I use materials existing in their natural state and ones that have already been altered to suit a human purpose. These materials become the medium to depict the forms of the anthropocene creating expansive scenes that critique time and space. Working with discarded material and industrial and agricultural byproducts I transform them into vibrant pigments, My work addresses the impersonal industrial life cycles of material by understanding the objects and materials she uses in her art practice from raw source to refined material by being present and in physical contact with the material through each stage of transformation as they become vibrant and beautiful pigments. I also deals with the natural plant based materials that are overlooked and neglected, growing at the fringes of society and Imagine their potential uses through a contemporary lens but also a deep knowledge of the rich history of plant dyes and pigments
