I am a visual and sound artist with my practice investigating the connection between the human body and machines. I am inspired by the works of artists such as Samuel Beckett with his plays inspiring my work hugely. Richard Moss work 'The Enclave' with its large scale projections and Teiji Furuhashi's projection work 'Lovers' are also big inspirations for my practice. Aiden Barry's 'Listen Liquid' and Gary Hill 'Tall Ships' are also big inspirations for me as an artist. Alongside these artists and their work my own practice is inspired by the experimentation and use of digital softwares such as Touchdesigner and Pure Data to capture different visual and audio inputs to create installation work. My work 'Waiting For' is a live projection installation piece using sensors and software to track people movement through a space. How machines interpret the movement of the human body and convert this data into sound and visual is a big focus of my practice as an artist currently. I believe seeing how this data is converted into projected visuals can help us understand how our actions in the real world, such as movement, can have an effect on the digital landscape around us.
