My work would primarily be about exploring the individual need for an intimacy with our own location, how location frames our identity, influences our ideas and impacts on our daily life. Fragility and resilience would be a central theme in relation to the environment and landscape around and also in an emotional sense. My themes would be pathways and journeys, reflective of thought processes and a draw towards the land and the pathways taken in life. The stitching indicates time passing, endurance, meditation, exploration through repetition. The movement of the stitches through the pieces which create pathways, boundaries and contour lines which give the impression of topographies or map like creations.
Cotton fragmented bedsheet, an intimate fabric, when unburied so fragile, placed on Noil silk, dipped in beeswax to create a resilience, dyed in ink, hand stitched with hand dyed threads to create contour lines to replicate a map like fabric.
