F E McWilliam Gallery presents ‘Drift’ by Victor Sloan. The exhibition centres around Sloan’s documentation of a group of Vietnamese ‘Boat People’, who arrived in Craigavon in 1979. Although assisted by voluntary organizations, many were unhappy with the conditions and left to live somewhere else. The exhibition includes Sloan’s original documentary photographs, the artworks he made from them and contemporary photographs of Craigavon in the early 1980s, supplemented by a new series of images of the estates where the Vietnamese were housed and a video work, featuring Ka Fue Lay, who recalls his experiences of Northern Ireland.
