‘Silent Exposure’ at Dublin Castle is an exhibition of the photographs of the Irish photographer William Despard Hemphill. His portraits, still life, architecture and scenery are both records of historical value and sublime works of art. The OPW has produced William Despard Hemphill, Irish Victorian Photographer to accompany the exhibition. Also at the Castle, ‘The Granard Bequest’ comprises a collection of paintings, French furniture and clocks, oriental porcelain and other items donated by Jane Beatrice, Countess of Granard. The collection comes from the original collection at the Metropolitan Museum in New York and the Granard residences in Paris and Longford.
