Gormley’s Fine Art presents an exhibition of new works, entitled ‘Semblance’, by four of Ireland’s most promising figurative painters: Catherine Creaney, Stephen Johnston, Kyle Barnes and Gordon Harris. While each artist has their own contemporary approach to figurative painting, all capture the expression and emotion of their subject while creating dialogue with the viewer and issues concerning modern society. Creaney recently received the ESB Keating Award for outstanding artwork at the RHA, while both Barnes and Johnston have previously been awarded the Towry Award at the National Open Art Competition, UK. Gormley’s open a new art gallery in Galway with an autumn group exhibition in September.
Semblance: 24 September – 14 October;
Group exhibition: 11 September – 28 November
