The National Library of Ireland is commemorating the Easter Rising with a series of onsite and online exhibitions. At the National Photographic Archive, ‘Rising’ will showcase the NLI’s rich imagery of the events and locations of 1916. The exhibition features short audio pieces of witness accounts from the National Library’s collections. On Kildare Street, ‘Signatories’, a display of items relating to the seven signatories of the 1916 Proclamation includes family photographs and letters, correspondence with comrades and associates, and records of their work and interests. An updated exhibition, ‘The 1916 Rising: Personalities and Perspectives’, first curated for the 90th anniversary and a series of eye-witness accounts are available on the NLI website.
