‘1916: Tales from the Other Side’, at Marsh’s Library uses their archive of books, manuscripts and artefacts to trace how minority communities responded to the events of the Irish revolution. Visitors can discover the Rising through the diaries of a middle-class teenager or the student librarian, Richard FitzPatrick, who joins the British Army after 1916. The exhibition includes ‘Bullet Books’, ancient texts which were machine-gunned during Easter Week and have never been repaired.
