New work by Willie Doherty shows at the Regional Cultural Centre as part of the annual Earagail Arts Festival. Commissioned by Donegal County Council and the Arts Council, ‘Loose Ends’ explores the legacy of the 1916 Rising, and was made at sites of contested history in Dublin and Donegal. Other exhibitions include ‘The Look of the Irish’, celebrating one hundred years of Irish portraiture. Participating artists include photographer Richard Noble and painter Daniel Nelis. The festival will end with ‘Northern Lights’, a celebration of street arts, spectacle and circus. Other highlights include the Donegal Folk and Roots Festival, a weekend of folk and indigenous music, and ‘Unified’, a theatrical piece by Guy Le Jeune in partnership with An Grianán Theatre and Donegal County Arts Office.
