At the Butler Gallery, Martin Healy’s new body of work expands on the principal concerns of his practice, chiefly our progressively tenuous relationship with the natural world, and how this reflects on the various symbolic uses of the animal in culture. The new works form an installation across the four galleries combining film, photography and sculpture. Permeated with an aura of environmental anxiety, the works question the underlying concept of dominion, which has defined humankind’s relationship to the other organisms on the planet.
