Work by Sam Keogh is included in the 15th Lyon Biennale of Contemporary Art. The theme of this year’s Biennale is nature and changing climates to question our relationship with the world. Keogh’s contribution is an installation of sculpture, collage and video. He uses soil, trash and buddleia plants intertwined with the invasive Japanese knotweed, the wood-boring ‘shipworm’ mollusc and moth larvae. Subterranean tunnels, roots and worms connect the work’s various elements and pull the viewer through a composted aggregate of histories, places and materials.
