St Peter’s arts and heritage visitor centre is hosting an exhibition marking the historic events of 1920. A tumultuous year in the life of the city, the exhibition, ‘Cork 1920 – The Burning of a City’, brings this centenary to the fore. It uncovers thought-provoking stories from the period using archival material, historic photographs and compelling witness statements. The exhibition highlights the events that led to the destruction of swathes of the city by fire in December 1920, tracing its impact on the city’s citizens in the aftermath. It will be accompanied by a series of gatherings, talks and workshops.
Due to Covid-19 exhibition dates have changed. Please check the venues website for further details
