The Green on Red Gallery is at Art Brussels 2020 with a new slide-dissolve installation and photographic works by Ronan McCrea. Titled ‘Waste to Energy/Energy to Waste’, this work-in-progress comprises a sequence of projected slides accompanied by a voice-over centring on the recently completed and controversial Dublin waste-to-energy facility, an incinerator that burns waste and generates electricity. McCrea’s work takes the form of an expository photo-roman, in which two unseen characters (E and W) voice an exchange of letters.
