The fig leaf, an early symbol of modesty, is the fulcrum for Julia Dubsky’s latest body of work on show at Amanda Wilkinson Gallery. Playfully referencing works of art and literature (Paolo Veronese’s Infideltity and Balzac’s The Unknown Masterpiece, to name but two), Dubsky’s sparring palette employs hot and cold blue and red paints to swirling effect.
