A community artwork at the Source Arts Centre responds to the history of sugar production in Thurles. In the 20th century, the sugar factory employed generations of the same families. They worked in the plant or farmed the sugar beet it processed. Archivist and artist Eddie Kenehan has recorded forty hours of interviews with former workers and staff. This is the basis for a new series of artworks and multimedia responses.
