Working in partnership with the Kilkenny Arts Festival, the Butler Gallery presents ‘Kevin Atherton: The Return’, a series of three video installations and other, object-based work, all revisiting themes or work from the artist’s oeuvre. In recent years, Atherton has become known for this aspect of his practice, ‘re-entering’ his previous works to make new interventions, questioning ideas of authorship and identity and using humour to explore them.
