A new immersive installation by Gillian O’Shea at GOMA Gallery of Modern Art Waterford explores themes of escapism and transformation in the context of the ongoing climate crisis. ‘Reckoning Ball’ is an eight-minute video shown on large screens and featuring a cast of real and imagined characters in the form of moving paper plants and model greenhouses. The artist’s intention is to highlight human challenges and internal desires.
