‘Sarah Purser: Private Worlds’ at the National Gallery of Ireland revisits the painting and achievements of an artist who played a pivotal role in the development of modern Irish art. Purser was known for her portraits, and the exhibition includes a selection of her finest oils, highlighting her interest in a more intimate style of portraiture and scenes of domestic life. These works represent a lesser-known aspect of her practice but reflect her training in Paris and her interest in modern European painting.
