Wexford County Council and Wexford Arts Centre present Patricia Hurl’s ‘Irish Gothic’. In partnership with the Irish Museum of Modern Art, who hosted Hurl’s retrospective earlier this year, the exhibition showcases the artist’s political work in painting, multimedia and collaborative art practice. Since the 1970s, Hurl has created work that deals with loss, pain, frustration and loneliness, using Expressionistic layered brushstrokes that blur the distinctions between figuration and abstraction.
