‘Le Temps de Giacometti (1946–1966)’ at Les Abattoirs in Toulouse examines the life and art of the Modernist sculptor from the postwar years onwards. Irish artist Gerard Byrne, who works primarily in video, photography and performance art, is included in the exhibition. His work Construction V (2006) recreates the tree designed by Giacometti for the 1961 staging of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot.
