Michele Horrigan’s durational artwork ‘Stigma Damages’ at The Model traces the pollution and damage caused by the Aughinish Alumina Refinery on the Shannon Estuary. The plant, near her home in Askeaton, converts bauxite from Guinea into alumina powder, which is then exported worldwide for aluminium production. Through film, performance and installation, Horrigan’s work traces this production line against a backdrop of corporate greenwashing and misinformation.
