Alice Maher and Rachel Fallon’s textile sculpture ‘The Map’ tours to the Irish Arts Center in New York. The work reimagines the life and mythology of Mary Magdalene through sewing, hand-embroidery and painting. Maher and Fallon drew on the idea of the Mappa Mundi to honour the invisible labour of Irish women, in particular those incarcerated in the Magdalene Laundries in Ireland.
