A solo exhibition by Laura Ní Fhlaibhín at the Wexford Arts Centre explores the almost-extinct cotton-weed plant in European ecology. Research conducted with Tony Murray from the National Parks and Wildlife Service revealed that the plant is on the verge of extinction in Ireland and Britain, save for a patch on the sand dunes at nearby Our Lady’s Island. The exhibition charts the decline of the plant through an installation of sculptural assemblage and wall-based works.
