Born in Northampton in 1929, artist Camille Souter does not consider herself academic and wears her learning lightly. Nonetheless, she was elected a Saoi of Aosdána in 2008, has received honorary doctorates from two of our leading universities and is a member of the Geological Society of Ireland.
