Belfast Exposed and the Gallery of Photography are currently presenting ‘Men and Women’ by Tom Wood. This photographer has taken photos almost every day for the last 40 years, documenting people in their everyday environments; on the bus, at the shops, in pubs, work spaces and nightclubs. Never seen without his camera, and constantly moving between different styles, the ‘Photie Man’ (as Wood became known locally and as his 2005 book with Steidl was titled) mixes images of strangers with portraits of family and friends. In a creative collaboration with artist Padraig Timoney, Wood has re-visited his vast archive of images for this show.
