This June, Irish sculptors Brendan Jamison and Mark Revels will unveil ‘New York Sugar Metropolis’ in the Sugar Hill district of Harlem. Devised last year by Jamison, the first version of Sugar Metropolis was held in the Royal Ulster Academy of Arts, Belfast. Over 5,000 visitors participated in constructing the city from sugar cubes, making it the largest ever collaborative artwork in the history of Northern Ireland. The installation will be exhibited on the ground floor of a new multi-purpose Broadway Housing development and is supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and LuLu LoLo Productions, Harlem.
