Johnstown Castle opened for the first time to the public in 2019 after the Irish Heritage Trust, in partnership with Teagasc, carried out significant restoration work to bring the Wexford Gothic Revival castle and its collections back to life. The Trust prioritised the on-site conservation treatment of one of Johnstown Castle’s original artworks, Edmund Thomas Parris’ portrait, Hamilton Knox Grogan Morgan and Family.
