Caoimhín Mac Giolla Léith meets painter and sculptor Marcel Vidal

During a visit to Marcel Vidal’s Temple Bar studio, it quickly becomes apparent that this young artist is having a very busy year indeed. In the spring he was the recipient of a Golden Fleece Award and he was also shortlisted for the inaugural Merrion Plinth Award. More recently, he learned of his inclusion in the forthcoming compendium 100 Sculptors of Tomorrow, to be published by Thames & Hudson. Sculpture will also feature prominently in a solo exhibition he is planning for the Ashford Gallery in the RHA next year.
